Wondering what to expect from our training program?
If you have questions about hauling and off-property exposure, the trainer, communication, horse safety, pricing, what’s included, or whether our program is the right fit for you, keep reading.

We’ve laid everything out clearly so you know exactly what to expect.

What to Expect in Training:

  • 60-day minimum training commitment

  • Most horses should be riding reasonably well around 30 days, though progress varies by horse

  • We do not guarantee results, as every horse learns at a different pace

  • We are selective about the horses we accept and honest about suitability for our program

  • Western colt starting and training only

  • Exposure-based training is a key part of our program

Exposure-Based Training:

  • Horses are regularly hauled off-property during training

  • Exposure may include:

    • Trailering practice

    • Working in new environments

    • Time around cattle

    • Roping exposure when appropriate

    • Hauling to horse shows and rodeos when possible

  • Horses are worked both alone and with other horses

Owner Communication:

  • Owners are welcome to visit, but riding is not permitted during training

  • Training updates are provided every other week

  • Owners will be notified immediately if a horse becomes injured

  • Injuries and next steps are discussed directly with the owner

Safety & Requirements:

  • Horses are kept outdoors; we do not offer stall housing

  • We take a limited number of horses at one time to ensure quality, hands-on training

  • Horses must be well handled prior to arrival

  • All horses must be up to date on vaccinations, and papers will need to be shown. 

  • We have solid experience in colt starting and handling young horses

  • Horse safety is a priority at all times

  • Owners will be notified immediately if a horse becomes injured

  • Injuries and next steps are discussed directly with the owner

Training Rates & What's included:

  • $1,500 per month

  • Includes:

    • Training and handling

    • Exposure work and hauling during training

  • Not included:

    • Farrier services

    • Veterinary care

Is This Program Right for Your Horse?

  • We do not accept problem horses

  • Horses must have basic handling and manners

  • We are honest if a horse is not progressing as expected

  • We have recommended other trainers when a horse is not a good fit for our program
